Our story
Groot Constantia, in the 1970s.
As a child in the 1970s, I’d walk with my family through the vineyards of Groot Constantia, deep in the valley.
My mother ran Groot Constantia Restaurant, on the national heritage site, known for its preserves, its wines and its mix of Cape Malay and South African dishes. It’s where she made the traditional fudge.
In 2001 we began making it here in the UK, for South Africans who’d eat a tablet and dream of home and the hot South African summers.
